At Stockinbingal Public School we believe that school should be an enjoyable, inclusive environment that provides endless opportunities for students to reach their potential academically, socially and physically.
Stockinbingal Public School is proud of its links with the community and provides a focal point for much of the village's interest and activities. The school strives to promote a safe, caring and supportive learning environment in attractive, well shaded and maintained grounds. The school has in place extensive literacy programs and individual and small group teaching feature. The school community believes the size of the school optimises student learning outcomes.
School History and Information
The first application for a provisional school at Stockinbingal was made in 1887.
A school was finally built and opened on 22 March 1894, with an enrolment of 23 pupils.
The school has maintained an enrolment of near 40 students for the past 100 years. The highest enrolment of 105 students was in 1965.
On 1 and 2 October 1994 the school held Centenary Celebrations.
In 1994 the Department of Education together with the P&C constructed an administration area with proceeds from the Centenary Celebrations.
Proceeds were also used to construct playground equipment.
In 2000 the P & C, in conjunction with the Department of Education and Training (through a special grant), built a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA), between the administration block and library building. This area is used for shelter, to hold assemblies and special events, as an outdoor classroom and eating area.
In 2010 a new classroom was built as part of the Building Education Revolution (BER) Program and a shade cover was constructed over the outdoor play equipment as part of the School Pride Program.
Two buses service the school to bring students from outlying farms as well as those who live in the village to the school.
